Hi Heather,
Your Transitions article is beautiful. After 7 years in Europe (Paris, Amsterdam), we too came back for those same reasons. When people ask, do you miss Amsterdam, I say yes, but when I was there I missed Canada. The experience was way worth it. If your husband ever needs to hug a tree, he's welome to visit EBW in the valley, and as for the sailing, my recommendation is K-town of course!

I sure miss you, Tim and the kids. It is very quiet and lonely on our dock. I'm glad that you're loving your house and new life and on a day like today (wet and grey) I could certainly be tempted to move ashore. Good luck with acing your health, I'm cheering for you xoxo

Hi Heather - stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say that I understand how you feel. Changes are hard, but most of the time hard changes are what make our lives the best they can be. For us moving away from Vancouver to the little village of Cumberland BC was a big change, but we can see the positive ramifications already. The most painful thing is leaving old friends, and you're one of mine. I hope we can stay connected despite the distance between us. Let's just stay that the distance between us will be in geographical terms only, okay? I'll keep an eye on your blog. Love ya - you're an amazing woman, and a fantastic mom.

Dear Heather, Tim and beautiful family:

Ann and I were surfing and found your blog. As we sat together peaking at the ocean, with glass in hand of well deserved fermented grapes, your site so appealed to us that we wanted you both to know how it lifted our spirits in chuckles and cheers! We both live in Nanaimo BC and though we just sold our 35 foot 1959 classic, you two have sparked that sailing bug in our hearts once again.

We truly hope you get this as a reminder of your wonderful honest influence you and your family have in your story and photos. It's a reminder to us of how it all begain. We wish you the best and if you ever visit this nice little town, we are living right on the water beside a cute little coffee shop.

We really miss our boat now....

Hi Heather,

Just wanted to connect - your article in PY featured one of my photos.

Hopefully we'll run into each other somewhere 'out there' this summer.

I'm always the smallest boat in the anchorage, usually pretty easy to find ;-)
